The Journey

Design has always been my language. Growing up, I was the curious kid, imagining what different textiles could become. That curiosity led me from Manipal University Jaipur's design studios to Pearl Academy Mumbai's business classrooms, and eventually to the University of Southampton's MA Fashion Design program. But the real education came from the factory floors, the sample rooms, and the late nights tweaking tech packs until they were perfect. I've spent the last seven years learning how fashion actually works — not just the glamorous runway version, but the real-world ecosystem of manufacturers, merchants, pattern-makers, and the skilled hands that bring designs to life. That's why I founded Rubrae Design House. The name "Rubrae" comes from Latin, meaning "red" — a color that symbolizes passion, energy, and transformation.

What I Believe

Fashion Can Be a Force for Good: The industry I love is also one of the world's biggest polluters. That's not okay with me. Every project I take on starts with sustainability at its core — whether that's sourcing deadstock fabrics, designing for longevity, or implementing zero-waste cutting techniques.

Design With Production Knowledge: Beautiful sketches mean nothing if they can't be manufactured. I pride myself on creating designs that work in the real world — patterns that manufacturers can execute, fabrics that are actually available, and price points that make commercial sense.

Small Brands Deserve Big Design: You don't need a corporate budget to have professional design. I have the experience of working with startups, independent labels, and emerging designers who are building something meaningful. Your vision matters, regardless of your current size.

Collaboration Creates Magic: The best work happens when designer and client are true partners. I don't just take orders — I ask questions, challenge assumptions, and bring my full creative and strategic thinking to every project.

Beyond the Design Board

  • When I'm not sketching or building tech packs, you'll find me teaching the next generation of designers previously in England, UK. There's something beautiful about seeing young minds discover their creative voice — it reminds me why I fell in love with design in the first place.
  • I'm also constantly learning. Fashion moves fast, and staying relevant means staying curious. I'm obsessed with sustainable materials innovation, digital fashion technology, and how traditional craft techniques can inform contemporary design.
  • I also mentor aspiring design students through their university applications. Having successfully navigated the competitive UK application process myself — I know firsthand how overwhelming it can be. If you're applying to design programs and need guidance, I offer portfolio and SOP reviews to help you put your best foot forward.

Why "Rubrae Design House"?

  • This isn't just my business — it's my design philosophy made tangible.
  • "Design House" because I believe in approaching each project holistically, considering every aspect from concept to customer. "Rubrae" because passion drives everything I do. The red thread (quite literally) connects all my work: bold choices, emotional resonance, and designs that demand to be noticed.
  • Whether you're a startup or an established brand ready for reinvention, I bring the same level of dedication, expertise, and passion to every project.

Let's Create Together!

  • I'm currently based in India, but work with clients globally. Distance doesn't limit collaboration — technology and communication do the heavy lifting.
